Believe - Two Wolves

One evening, an old Cherokee told his grandson of a battle that goes on within each person.

He explained that the battle within us is between two wolves.  One is Evil.  It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, blame, revenge, false pride, superiority and ego.  The other is Good.  It is understanding, acceptance, joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, forgiveness, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.

The grandson thought about his grandfather's words.   Then asked; "Which wolf wins?"

The Old Cherokee replied; "The One You Feed."
