Prince George Is Walking!
Clarence House tweeted this picture today of Prince George walking all on his own! How adorable is the little Prince?!
Prince George, third in line to the throne of England, is set to celebrate his first birthday on July 22nd!
How time flies. It feels like just yesterday that the media set up camp outside of the hospital awaiting the announcement of the Royal birth. Only to be outdone by the first glimpse of his sweet face. In fact, I still remember the day that Prince Charles and Princess Diana introduced their first bundle of joy; Prince William, to the world. (OK, I may be getting old!)
Surely the Duke and Duchess will now have their hands full with a free-traveling little one on their hands. haha Oh how I remember those days!
Happy (early) First Birthday sweet Prince!

Actions and Consequences
I have been doing a lot of thinking about The Prank Call Heard Round The World ....
For those who have been living under a rock this past week .... let me recap. Prince William and Princess Catherine announced that they were expecting their first child. The world rejoiced in the blessed news. Unfortunately Kate, like most women, was experiencing morning sickness ... unlike most women, she was hospitalized as a result.
Flash forward to a pair of Australian radio Disc Jockeys who decided to do a prank phone call to King Edward VII hospital where the Duchess was being treated for hpyermesis gravidarum - extreme morning sickness requiring replacement hydration and nutrients.
The Disc Jockeys, portraying the Queen and Prince Charles - with dreadful British accents, indeed made the call to the hospital in attempts of obtaining information about the Duchess. The call was answered by a nurse covering for the switchboard, believing the DJ's were indeed the Queen and the Prince, she patched the call through to the nurse caring for Princess Catherine, where upon personal information was given by the second nurse .... recorded for the world to hear.
Needless to say, the Palace was furious. And I believe that although many were shocked that the call actually went through - given the ridiculous accents ... I'd say the entire event was regarded as a giant coo for the radio station.
Two days later, the world was stuck in disbelief - collectively gutted, as the tragic news came down that the first nurse who originally answered the call, had been found dead and thought to have committed suicide. Leaving behind a son and a daughter. How heavy her heart and head must have been to take such drastic actions. I can only imagine the guilt and shame she must have felt. How heavy her soul must have been to end her own life.
I need to make a confession, that when I heard the news of the nurse's death, I was furious with the DJ's. I judged them. And along with the majority of the world - I blamed them for her death. I prayed to God that He would help me to disconnect - to not pass judgment. To know that only He can judge them.
It was very hard.
The two days following, I, along with the rest of the world learned that the DJ's had suspended their show, the radio station had to shut down their Facebook account due to the overwhelming amount of negative postings on the page. That the DJ's had to shut down their Twitter accounts due to the death threats.
I believed it was well deserved.
Today I watched the interview of the DJ's ... I listened to them. And I admit that they have good and valid points about prank calls being made by radio stations in every country around the world - since forever. I truly believe that they, too, were devastated by the news of the nurse's death.
Although I do believe they are culpable. And I do believe that actions have consequences - even if they are not foreseen. I have to say that I do believe that the intent of the call was not malicious. I do believe that things spun horribly out of control. I do believe they are regretful of the tragedy, which resulted from their harmless call. And I do feel sorry for them.
I am thankful to God for showing me another side to this horrible, terrible, tragic series of events. For showing me how to shift my shock and anger to compassion and understanding. And I do know that the friends and family of Jacintha Saldanha need an abundance of love and support during these next weeks, months and years ahead. And that nothing will ease their pain in loss of their beloved Jacintha. I also recognize that the lives of the DJ's will forever be altered and no matter what law suits may follow ... or how much backlash they endure .... I truly believe there can be no greater punishment given, than the weight of the events of that day, which will reside forever on their souls.

Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge Expecting First Child
I am so, so, so excited!! Clarence House released a statement this morning confirming that Princess Catherine is pregnant!! YAY!!!
I think the world - certainly the Commonwealth has been waiting for this news. That Prince William, the first born son of the late Princess Diana, and His bride; Princess Catherine would have their first child.
The following is the official statement from Clarence House.
May God bless and keep them both!!
YAY!!!

Princess Catherine - Pictures
I just wanted to do a small post. Well - I really didn't WANT to ... but rather, I felt compelled to do so.
With the recent leaks of the intimate pictures of Princess Catherine, while sunbathing with her husband; Prince William, on the balcony of a private family estate in France. I have to say that I am simply horrified for her!!
I just cannot express enough how inappropriate and invasive I feel these pictures are.
Now, I absolutely understand that celebrities and royal family members are subjected to a certain amount of transparency in their lives, simply by virtue of the lives they live. That said, there must be boundaries.
Even with the pictures that were leaked previously of Prince Harry carrying on in Las Vegas, well ... Harry has always been a bit of a player. I do however, question his common sense. IF you are a Prince, and you are young - and in Vegas ... by all means, play, party, do what you have to do. BUT, for the Love of God, confiscate all recording devices before the party begins. That just seems like common sense to me.
However, the situation with Catherine is frankly disgusting to me. I am deeply disturbed by Closer Magazine of France for taking and posting the pictures, but - after St James Palace filed a law suit against the magazine, for the Italy branch of the same publication to turn around and do an 18 page spread of such private moments between a husband and wife. Is simply appalling to me.
I am reminded of how the press and paparazzi hounded the late Princess Diana, and I am fearful for the life ahead of Catherine. I pray that the press will back off. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are public enough, that you do not need to go to such intrusive and invasive measures just in the name of the almighty buck.
Have we learned nothing from the horrible fate that was Princess Diana's? And at the end of the day .. her death was all for what? A picture. And why? For money.
Leave these young people alone!!

Fit for a King
So, Prince William and Katherine Middleton have announced their engagement, after dating for about eight years. I could not be happier!!!! I have loved Katherine for years and think she is perfect for the Prince.
At the announcement, it could not be helped but to notice that the engagement ring was that of the late Princess Diana. I must admit that I was a little surprised and really taken aback by some of the reaction to this gesture. Many feel that it is "creepy" .... "inappropriate" ... for Prince William to have given his future wife - the future Queen of England; the engagement ring of his beloved mother.
I thought it was a highly appropriate gesture and extremely sweet. Especially after hearing William say that it was his way of including Princess Diana in the start of their lives together.
What did surprise me was their selection of where the wedding will take place. Although Westminster Abby is unarguably a beautifully stunning structure, coupled with the fact that Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mother, both; were married in the Abby. I thought it odd as it was also the venue for the funeral of Princess Diana.
It seems to me that it would difficult to have a wedding in the very place the funeral of your mother had taken place.
Evidently it was Prince William who ultimately suggested the Abby. And so, on April 29th, 2011, Prince William and Katherine Middleton will be wed. And just as when Prince Charles and Princess Diana were wed - I will be up at 3AM watching with bells on!!
To my own mortality, I am feeling rather aged at the thought that the current Queen has been as such for my entire life. All 42 years of my existence on earth. I have seen Princess Diana - courted, engaged, married, pregnant, after the birth of each of the Princes .. and finally laid to rest. Now, I am going to witness the wedding of the man who I can still envision as a belly-bump on a young Princess - 29 years ago. The same boy, who at 15 years of age, followed bravely along with 11 year old Prince Harry; behind their mother's casket as it was paraded through the streets.
Time sure does fly.
I am very excited for the future King and Queen of England. I look forward to all of the pomp and circumstance of the regal affair. The dress, the venue, the onlookers, the vows, the kiss ....
I believe they will have a blessed life and I wish them all the best.
